October Acoustic night – Thursday 1st October

October Acoustic night at Holland Sports - Thursday 1st October 8pm On 1st October, we'll be hosting our first live acoustic night featuring 3 of the finest local guitar talents. Kicking off the evening at 8pm will be Acouchik (aka Ben Mcilwraith), followed by Eloise Wynn-Jones at 9pm, with Matt Hayes taking to the stage around 10pm. We'll be looking at making this a regular event on the first Thursday of every month, so if you'd like to play for an hour, and get paid for it, get in touch!      

Rugby World Cup 2015 – Live at Holland Sports

Less than a week to go until the start of the Rugby World Cup! Friday night at 8pm sees the start of England's campaign in the Rugby World Cup when they take on Fiji at Twickenham. Watch every kick, tackle and try on both screens at Holland Sports. To help celebrate, how about Chili Con Carne, rice, tortillas and a pint for £6?! At halftime we'll be dishing up, so beat the rush and get your orders in to the bar during the first half. If you don't fancy a pint, you can just have the chili for £3.95.

Non members open evening – Music from Moonshine & Molly Thursday 10th September

Non members open evening with live music from Moonshine & Molly, Thursday 10th September August has been a busy month for the committee, with lots of work going on behind the scenes to get the club ready for the winter months. We've already made some changes to the bar area and extended our wine selection. Next week we'll be redecorating the club in it's new colour scheme, and giving the area we use for band performances a makeover. On Thursday 10th September we'll be opening our doors from 7pm for non members to come and have a look around and see what we're all about. Well behaved children are more than welcome to attend (until 9pm), and we'll have the extremely talented Moonshine & Molly playing live from 8pm. Members of the committee and Athletics club will be available all evening to answer any questions you have, or to help fill in your membership application!

Live music Friday 31st July from Blown Gasket

This Friday Blown Gasket takes the stage at Holland Sports & Social Club. They are a rock covers band playing hits from the past six decades. If you love your live music they're definitely worth checking out. Get your dancing shoes on and head to the Club on Friday night - it's £3 for non-members, £2 for members. Doors open from 7.30 with the band starting around 8.30. Probably the cheapest drinks in the district!

Live music Saturday 25th July from One Eyed Jack This weekend we welcome back One Eyed Jack. "One tall one, three bald ones and one not bald or tall. One Eyed Jack were formed from the ashes of 'The Leftovers'. Not only does our repertoire include the best from the 50's to present day, so does our line up." Doors open at 8.30pm with the songs kicking off at 9pm. Members £2 on the door, Non members £3 Draught beers from £2.60, Spirits from £1.50, Soft drinks from 75p!

Schools Out! End of term picnic in the park – 21st July from 2pm

Calling all parents, grandparents, school kids and teaching staff........ If you hadn't already heard, Tuesday 21st July is the last day of school!!!!!!! To help you celebrate the end of the school year and the start of the summer holidays, we're inviting all parents, grandparents, carers and school staff from the local Infant and Junior schools to the Mill Lane playing fields for an after school picnic in the park. You can also bring the kids along if you wish :-) The pavillion will be open at 2pm for drinks, ice creams and toilet facilities, and the bbq will be sparked up around 2.30pm, so grab a picnic blanket and come and join us.   Footballs and cricket sets will be available, and if anyone fancies starting some other competitive games against another school (or your teachers!) , then we have a tug of war rope and some sacks for a sack race too!
