Last October the chairman of Tandridge District Council, Elizabeth Parker, officially opened the long awaited re-vamped Hurst Green Skate Park in Mill Lane.

The build of which was brought about by funding from Taylor Wimpey and Tandridge District Council with advice from Callum Townsend, Tom Gibson, Antony Fields, Alex Ekers, Dan Woodcock and John Maddull under the guidance of Jim Noton from Harry’s Youth Centre.

With the support of the local community, members from Mighty Oaks Youth Club in Hurst Green and Harry’s Youth Centre in Oxted, children of all ages were eager to show off their tricks The day was sponsored by the Premier Skateboarding Shop in Caterham Valley, the Boardroom Skate Shop in Crawley and Curbstars of Redhill, who all provided hats, t-shirts, hoodies, posters and lots more, enabling everyone to be rewarded with a prize.

The site is the biggest of the 5 free sites in Tandridge.
