Welcome to this month’s newsletter. Please take the time to have a look and support the Mighty Blues of Holland Sports AC and your athlete.

Let us see more athletes competing – all age groups from U11 upwards. The age group you are in is your age as at 31st August 2019. So if you are 10 now but 11 before 31st August 2019 then you are U13. Sports competitions provide an opportunity to review your progress as an athlete, help us as coaches to help you and strengthen friendship and understanding among our athletes.
We are pleased to have an increasing number of parents supporting sessions and helping with team management. We are co-hosting the YDL LAG on April 27th at David Weir Leisure Centre at Carshalton. We would ask for more support on the day as I am going to be very busy – I am Field Referee as well as being the Announcer so will not be able to deal with any of our athletes on the day. However Jeff, Steve & James will be in charge.
Re the Trim Trail Holland Sports & Social Association are holding a working weekend on 27th-28th April to rectify all the issues raised by TDC. They are hiring a small digger and buying 20 tonnes of topsoil and grass seed and need volunteers with rakes, hoes etc to join us to get the work done. It would be most appreciated if members of the Athletics club could join the Association and Football Club members who have already agreed to help out. They would envisage working from 9am to 4pm on both days to get the work done. They have a qualified machine driver who will operate the digger. Parents if you can only turn up even for a few hours that will be helpful. I appreciate it is difficult as many will be at the YDL on Saturday.

CHANGE IN TRAINING TIMES

On Tuesday and Thursday we are changing the times of the sessions with James, Jeff & Will and this will take place at the start of May.

It is very disappointing we have so few supporters. Come on support our club & buy some tickets. At the moment we are raising £910 towards club funds.
The lottery tickets cost £1 each & anyone buying a ticket will be able to select the cause they want to support – ie Holland Sports AC – 50p of the ticket price will go directly to the chosen cause with a further 10p in the £ going into a fund for the Council to distribute in the form of small grants to a wide range of projects who apply for the support. The remainder will go to prizes & admin costs. The draws are held weekly with a top prize of £25,000. You have a 1 in 50 chance of winning a prize. So start buying the tickets by going to the website https://www.tandridgelottery.co.uk & putting Holland Sports AC as the cause you wish to support & then buy the tickets.
Holland Sports AC has a winner which was yours truly Nigel Bongers – winning £250 – on 2 separate occasions he won 3 free tickets & other Holland Sports AC parents of members have won prizes.
